Beanie Babies Maker Ty Debuts First-Ever TV Commercial on Black Friday

On Black Friday, Beanie Babies creator, Ty Warner of Ty, will debut Peek-A-Boos first ever commercial. Peek-A-Boos hold all phones upright for a hands free experience – the ideal gift and stocking stuffer for this holiday season.

"Kids love plush animals and they love technology and the Peek-A-Boos change the way they interact with both," said Ty Warner. Peek-A-Boos appeal to all ages and can hold all phones and mini tablets while playing games, talking on FaceTime, or watching videos hands free.

The TV spot, created by Leo Burnett Chicago, features a catchy, danceable tune with children interacting with Peek-A-Boos. The big eyes peek over mobile phone screens – on nightstands when the alarm sounds, in a locker for sending texts between classes and on kitchen tables to practice math. The plush animals also have a soft, microfiber bottom that doubles as a screen cleaner.

"From early on, we felt we had something special. Lots of kids broke into dance during the auditions, and much of what made the final cut was improvised on set," said Leo Burnett Associate Creative Director Brandon Crockett. "We made an effort to create a song and performances that would appeal not only to kids, but their millennial parents, who were the original Beanie Baby collectors."

The spot will air on national, cable and broadcast stations throughout the holidays as consumers search for the perfect gift or stocking stuffer. In addition to large-scale TV media, the product will also be promoted in paid social and across Ty social media channels.

Peek-A-Boos retail for around $5.00 - $6.00 and can be collected in four styles including Penni the penguin, Chimps the monkey, Uni the unicorn and Pups the dog.

While interviewing Ty Warner on his radio show "Aches and Gains," Dr. Paul Christo, an MD at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recently noted that Peek-A-Boos may help alleviate "text neck." Dr. Christo explained that they may help alleviate the condition, which is caused by the repetitive motion of looking down to text message or using social media apps on a phone.

Dr. Christo says, "Peek-A-Boos are an innovative solution that may help avoid or ease Text Neck…not to mention the fact they"re really cute!"
