a private funeral service took place today for alexander mcqueen. the ceremony was an intimate affair attended only by the designer's family and closest friends including kate moss, naomi campbell, stella mccartney, daphne guinness and sam taylor-wood. his father ronald was joined by his five children at the ceremony. it is expected that a larger memorial service open to his supporters will take place later this year, but nothing has been confirmed. a spokesman for the label said "we are focusing right now on the paris show, which takes place on march 9." a final goodbye to a brilliant designer who was truly a fashion icon. you will be missed.
