It is that time a year again, and for the 15th successive year the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week will be showcasing the best designers of the Asian Pacific Rim against the spectacular backdrop of Circular Quay.
From May 3-7, the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week will present 100 designers in 45 collection shows, along with over 50 accessory designers and over 40 designer collections.
Among Asia Pacific’s best is Dana Mawlai of the self-titled label Mawla’i (pronounced moh-la-yee), who was nominated designer of the year by the Australian Fashion Awards in 2008.
The brand—in the words of Mawla’i—has garnered a reputation for “unlocking the resistance between rawness and glamour: cultivating ambiguity and delving further into the alliance between masculinity and femininity, casualness and tailoring, subtleness and extravagance.”
